Barack Obama has served as a Democratic senator from Illinois since 2005. Since 1972, Joe Biden has been a Senator of Delaware as he won his first election at age 29. While this Senator is known for his commitment to bipartisanship, his priorities include being a leader in foreign policy, terrorism, drug policy, and fighting crime. He is responsible for writing the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA), that works with victims of violence, Senator Biden also introduced the Violent Crime Control and Law Enforcement Act of 1994 to increase the number of police officers in America and the College Affordability and Creating Chances for Educational Success for Student (ACCESS) ACT, that increases college planning in schools, Pell grants, and tax incentives.
