As LGBTQ youth, our votes are one important way to work on creating a government that is truly representative—that really is “of the people, by the people, and FOR the people.” If you will be eligible to vote in the election on November 4, you have the great opportunity to voice your opinion and show your support for what really matters to you.
We've created this resource for you, members of the LGBTQ youth community, so that when November rolls around we can queer the vote. By using “queer” as a verb we mean that we're interested in turning things upside down, toppling the homophobia, transphobia, and heterosexism within our government (in addition to pervasive racism, sexism, and classism).
