National Youth Advocacy Coalition's Programs

The National Youth Advocacy Coalition (NYAC) is a national social justice organization working with lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning (LGBTQ) young people to strengthen the role of young people in the LGBTQ rights movement. Through our capacity building, advocacy and youth engagement programs - NYAC is building a generation of impact.

Capacity Building
Working with local, state and national organizations to increase their effectiveness in working with LGBTQ youth. This work ranges from developing model programs to providing a national infrastructure to improve communication between organizations working with LGBTQ youth.

Advocacy
Advocating for issues important to LGBTQ youth and the organizations that work with them and bringing together local, state and national organizations on issues important to LGBTQ youth. This includes bringing local issues to a state and national level; and bringing LGBTQ young people and their perspectives to the attention of leaders setting the national policy agendas.

Youth Engagement
Helping youth navigate their way in the world of our movement and the political system. NYAC offers assistance to local, state and national organizations interested in engaging and empowering LGBTQ youth. We also support the development of strategies and programs to engage LGBTQ youth in the political process.
