Sources of Funding

Many organizations, foundations and government agencies, in addition to our amazing individual donors, invest their financial support in NYAC's vital programs.

This support has allowed NYAC to expand our programming and increase staffing which in turn has allowed NYAC to provide the highest quality services for our members and LGBTQ youth. All of our supporters are investing in NYAC's mission to advocate for and with young people who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, or questioning in an effort to end discrimination against these youth and to ensure their physical and emotional well being. NYAC has survived and flourished over these years thanks in large measure to these wonderful supporters.

At NYAC we believe that public and private foundation support are critical to the work of non-profits and are an integral part of our diverse funding strategy. We also believe fully in partnership, collaboration, and the sharing of resources. Over the years we have benefited from so many pioneering organizations and to the extent that we can help other groups prosper and grow, we will do all that we can.

Brother Help Thyself: A community based charity that provides financial and other support to non-profit organizations serving the GLBTQ community in the Baltimore / Washington DC area.

Rainbow Endowment Fund: The Rainbow Endowment Fund is a nonprofit organization committed to increasing resources, expanding opportunities, and promoting the health and social well-being and full participation of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people. Through its grantmaking, the Endowment supports nonprofit organizations in their national work. Visit www.rainbowcard.com/endowment.html for additional information.

Individual and Anonymous Donors: There are so many groups and individuals who support NYAC generously and sometimes anonymously. Last year, hundreds of individuals made substantial personal contributions, offered matching gift funds, donated appreciated securities, provided equipment, or offered their own labor or expertise. These people are very much like you, regular people who care about lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning youth. To learn more about individual gifts and contributions to NYAC, please read about the variety of options NYAC can offer to assist you in fulfilling your philanthropic goals on this site or e-mail donate @ nyacyouth.org.
